The Erlang Spirit's mother was the younger sister of the Emperor of the Heaven(the Supreme Deity of Taoism) .she envied the mundane world so much that she decended to the mundane world secretly. There, she met Yang，a scholar and fell in love with him. After the Emperor of the Heaven knew what hanppened,he got extremely angry and made his younger sister under Mount Tao to punish her.So the Erlang spirit says that he has the same destiny as Chenxiang.The Erlang spirit find Chenxiang and his mother through the light the lotue lantern gives off,he seizes Chenxiang.In the scene Mary intents to save Chenxiang.
