A Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) plane caught fire on Sunday after making an emergency landing at Aalborg airport, leaving 11 passengers lightly injured, said reports.

The pilot had dumped fuel in precaution and informed the Aalborg airport tower about failure with one of the landing gears before making the landing, said a police officer.

An SAS spokeswoman said there were 69 passengers and four crew members on the Q400 turboprop, and they were all evacuated before one of its engines caught fire.

The people who suffered minor injuries were taken to a hospital for treatment, police said.
