The “Two Strikes” (viz , “First Edition of Strike on the Table in Wonder” and the “Second Edition of Strike on the Table in Wonder”) were composed by Ling Mengchu . They were both fairly outstanding literary masterpieces .The two masterpieces can be regarded as the genre painting of the Chinese feudal society , involving almost all social strata and all aspects of people’s lives . Especially , the two masterpieces contained many descriptions of the daily life of the townspeople , so they were called the “worldly novels” and comparable in social significance to the Renaissance “Decameron” in Europe .
