On May 20, 2005, the renowned restaurant chain Quanjude Group opened up an exhibition hall on the third floor of its headquarters at Hepingmen, Beijing. Covering approximately 400 square meters, the hall is dedicated to the history of its famed roast duck, the company's development over the past century, and the culture it has modeled over the years. The exhibition hall gives visitors a good understanding of the old eatery's motto, "Perfection without a Haw, gathering without departing and virtuousness supreme." Visitors can also witness Quanjude's zest for creativity and get a taste of Beijing's ancient culture.
Organized into four sections, the exhibition explains the origins of roast duck, has a century-old store as one of its exhibits, and looks at the contemporary Quanjude operation. The successful development of Quianjude epitomizes that of China.
The group is dedicated to promoting Chinese culinary arts, and aims to establish its brand around the world as the market leader in Beijing.
