People from many countries use wine as a seasoning while cooking, and China's minority people are no exception. For example, the Nu people, who live in South China's Yunnan Province, like to make "meat wine" by frying chopped chicken and then simmering the meat in wine. The delicious and nutritious food, which is crispy on the outside, but soft and juicy on the inside, has the sweet smell of wine.
Each year during Tibetan New Year, Tibetacls make a special soup, known as "Gundeng." It is made by stewing highland barley beer, brown sugar, milk residue and butter. It tastes slightly bitter.
