Ghee tea and Tibetans are inseparable. Why? The Tibetans do not have enough vegetables, due to the unfavorable natural conditions on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.Tea is their alternative,as tea is nutritious and easy to transport and preserve.
When making ghee tea, they first decoct the brick tea into a juice, then add ghee and salt and pour the mixture into a bamboo or wooden canister. Then they place a crabstick, with a round handle on one end, into the canister. They repeatedly crush the mixture until it is evenly mixed. After that, they pour it into a pot to heat. Tibetans have an established rule for drinking ghee tea: Never let the tea pot or bowl, become empty, especially when treating guests
