Old Tales Retold or Gu Shi Xin Bian  was Lu Xun's third and last collection of short stories. It was published in 1935 and included 8 stories written between 1922 and 1935. The stories in this collection are either old Chinese stories that were reworked by Lu Xun and told from his particular perspective or they have ancient writers such as Lao Zi (aka Lao Tze, author of Tao Te Ching), Confucius and others as characters.
