Changan Avenue is the main part of this street. Straight, wide and even, it was once 3.7 kilometers before the founding a New China, and now is about 40 kilometers long. Apart from the north-south and east-west main traffic lines, the city of Beijing planned to link and widen old roads, open up new roads and at the same time preserve the original chessboard-like road network. When describing roads that have recently opened, the several ring-like roads must also be mentioned.
