Transportation: from Taiyuon to Taigu County only takes one hour and RMB 4 for bus fore and then RMB 10 taxi to the mansion
Accommodation: Taigu is a small place. It is suggested one spend half a day here and take a long distance bus to Pingyao far the night, where one can also tour the ancient city .Recammended are two hotels in Pingyao:
Shanhui Minfeng Hotel (17 West Guojia Lane Tel: 0354-5684585): It is an old house built at about the end of the Ming Dynasty and the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, quiet and graceful. RMB 40 per room; RMB 20 per bed (adobe kang); public bathroom available.
Yide Hotel (16 Shaxiang Lane Tel: 0354-5684988): It is a most beautiful hotel with primitive simplicity in a quadrangle style. It offers two kinds of room prices: RMB 260 per room furnished with authentic ancient furniture; RMB 180 per room with imitation ancient furniture: both with adobe kang and private toilets; hot water around the hour. Room prices can be negotiated in slack seasons.
