An Ode to Mount Tai
Input Date:02/27/2007 Read: [Print] [Close]

Beauteous yet craggy and skyscraping
    Is the Eastern Mount Tai, a scenic place so lofty;
    Halfway to the summit are temples
    Standing solemnly and silently…
'Tis neither man-made nor artificial,
But built on clouds by Nature.
    Pooh for the mansions, though gorgeously constructed.
    I've been tired of moving in and out;
    How I wish to take up residence here
    In this sanctuary to live out my life!

In this ode the poetess skillfully integrated her personal feeling with the ambience of alpine majesty, which shows her artistic taste for purity, plainness and space.
