Many experts have studied the transportation patterns during Spring Festival in recent years. They discovered migrant workers compose the largest group of passengers during the holiday. Also, university students, returning to their hometowns, and middle-and upper-class Chinese on sightseeing excursions, make up a large number of the travelers each festival.
So during Spring Festival, railway stations are crowded with four streams of people-migrant workers, students, travelers and urban residents visiting their relatives, especially as New Year's Day and Spring Festival approach.

Over the past two years, the central government has energetically addressed the problem of defaulting on migrant workers' wages. As more migrant workers happily returned home with their hard-earned money, the passenger flow during
the festival kept rising. With more than 100 million people in the floating population traveling during the period, it will surely place great pressure on the railway, which would be a headache for any country.
