Course Introduction
Paper-cut art has over 1000-year history since paper was born. Paper-cut is a picture by scissors. People would paste it on the window, desk, door etc. to express their inner happiness and life feeling, thus paper-cut is also called scissor-picture or window flower. Right now, paper-cut has been submitted to World Culture Heritage Application.
About Teacher
Ma Lianxi is a famous paper-cut artist in Nanjing. He started paper-cut since he was 8-year-old, now is over 70. He was 
born from paper-cut family. Ma Lianxi grandma was famous paper-cutter in paper-cut in Qing Dynasty, about 150 years ago and her work were supplied to royal court. Ma Lianxi 's father was also well-known in Republic of China (1919-1945), was called "Paper-cut Master". Ma Lianxi's work is vivid and delicacy.
