JAKARTA, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's declining badminton fortunes over the last a few years are mainly the result of a lack of winning spirit on the part of shuttlers, said former national badminton player Lilik Sudarwati Adisasmito.
Lilik expressed her concerns in her new book, titled the Winning Spirit: A Key to Winning, which was launched Thursday in Central Jakarta. She wrote that Indonesian shuttlers are physically and technically superior, but are in dire need of boosting their "winning spirit."
In the book, the graduate of the School of Psychology at the University of Indonesia, detailed what steps need to be taken to return the country to its former badminton glory.
She also recounted her experiences in winning gold medals at the Southeast Asian Games in 1988 and 1992.
