The Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) has delivered severe penalties to the league match organizers in Ningbo and the head coach of Bayi Shuanglu, who were blamed for the turmoil after a CBA league's quarter final last Friday.

The game's organizer was fined 20,000 yuan and the Bayi club and its manager Adijiang were both punished with 10,000 in fines. The watchdog also circulated a notice of blame among all CBA teams.

A mass supporter unrest was triggered on Friday evening after Bayi lost narrowly to visiting Liaoning in the first game of the best-of-five quarterfinals for alleged unfair judgment.

Unruly fans kept cursing the visiting players and referees after the game and some of them spat on Liaoning's head coach on his way to the locker room after the post-game press conference, during which Bayi manager Adijiang gave improper comment of the judge.

The bus carrying the visiting team was also stopped by fans and finally left when riot police arrived at the venue.
