BRASILIA, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- The coach of Brazil's national football team Dunga called up two rearguards temporarily on Thursday for matches against the United States and Mexico.

Edu Dracena of the Turk club of Fenerbahce and Gladstone of Portugal' Sporting club, will replace Alex Silva and Alex, both injured, for the friendly matches slated for September 9 and 12 in the United States.

Dunga chose Edu Dracena and Gladstone because they both have a European passport and will be exempt from visa demand before going to the United States, according to the Brazilian Football Confederation.

Brazil, in its final friendly matches before the qualifying tournament for the 2010 World Cup, will play the United States this Sunday in Chicago and Mexico three days later in Boston.
