BRASILIA, June 23 (Xinhua) -- The head coach of the Brazilian women's basketball team, Paulo Bassul, announced on Monday a list of 16 players who will travel to Beijing to compete in the 2008 Olympic Games.
Bassul stick to his word that he would exclude the star of the team, Iziane, from the squad due to her poor attitude in the Olympic qualifiers.
Five new players have been added to the roster. They are Adrianinha, Erika, Karina, Karen and Fernanda Beling.
Joining them in the lineup are Claudinha, Natalia, Karla, Jaqueline, Micaela, Chuca, Ega, Franciele, Mama, Kelly and Graziane.
The team will gather for the first time on Monday in Rio de Janeiro and their first training session will take place on July 1.
