(BEIJING, April 19) -- Italy outscored Germany 45-35 to win gold in the men's team foil event at the "Good Luck Beijing" 2008 FIE World Championships on Friday evening at the Fencing Hall of the National Convention Center.
It was a dominant performance from third ranked Italy. Taking the first bout 5-1, the Italians held the lead for the rest of the match, eventually beating the first ranked Germans by ten points.
Poland beat Russia 44-43 to win bronze.
