(BEIJING, Feb. 3) -- On February 3, the heats of five "Good Luck Beijing" 2008 Swimming China Open events were staged. Veterans Qi Hui, Laszio Cseh, Antje Buschschulte and Helge Meeuw entered the finals.
In the men's 50m free heats, Stefan Nystrand from Sweden clocked 22.33 and stood first. Petter Stymne from Sweden ranked second, while Chinese Huang Shaohua entered the final with a time of 23.47.

In the women's 200m medley, Chinese veteran Qi Hui stood second with a time of 2:17.33. Korean Choi Hye Ra ranked first. German Theresa Michalak and her two teammates also entered the finals.
In the men's 200m medley, Laszio Cseh from Hungary ranked third with a time of 2:04.78. The first place was obtained by Japanese Sano Hidemasa, who clocked 2:01.68 in the race. Fabio Carvalho of Portugal ranked second.
In the women's 200m heats, Nikolett Szepesi took first place with a time of 2:14.31, while Chinese Chen Yan, behind Szepesi by just 2.59, ranked second. Antje Buschschulte from Germany also got through to the finals.
In the men's 100m backstroke heats, German veteran Helge Meeuw clocked 54.96 and ranked first. Korean Sung Min stood second. Chinese Sun Xiaolei and Shi Feng ranked fourth and fifth, respectively, and entered the finals.
