
Qi Hui in the competition
(BEIJING, Feb. 3) -- The "Good Luck Beijing" 2008 Swimming China Open entered its fourth day on Sunday. Through the heats of women's 100m breaststroke heats on February 2, Qi Hui, Sun Ye and Liu Xiaoyu entered the women's 100m breaststroke final.
In the women's 100m breaststroke heats, China's ace swimmer, Qi Hui, topped the group to make the women's 100m breaststroke final and also made the Olympic Qualification time cut.
In the women's 100m breaststroke final, Chinese veteran Qi Hui and Seul Ki of Korea were the highlights of the event. In the last 50m, Seul Ki sped up and almost touched the wall at the same time as Qi Hui. The final result on the screen showed that Qi Hui clocked 1:09.24, while Seul Ki finished in 1:09.30. The difference of 0.06 helped Qi Hui carry away the gold. Chinese Sun ye won the bronze medal with a time of 1:09.71. Liu Xiaoyu ranked fifth with a time of 1:10.60.
