BEIJING, Feb. 2 (Xinhua) -- Republic of Korea clinched a 1-2 finish in the women's 200 meters breaststroke race at the Good Luck Beijing 2008 Swimming China Open here on Saturday morning.

Jung Seul Ki clocked a winning time of two minutes 25.16 seconds and her teammate Darae Jeong finished in 2:28:32 in the second place, edging Chinese player Sun Ye to the third in 2:28:97.

Jung said that she still felt disappointed with her performance despite the victory.

"I failed to reach my goal," Jung said.

China's veteran swimmer Qi Hui suffered an unexpected loss and only finished in 2:36:32, last among the finalists.

She blamed her under-performance on the Olympic-style schedule which puts the swimming finals in the morning.

"I felt hard to get excited in the morning," Qi explained.

The Good Luck Beijing 2008 Swimming China Open, which opened on Thursday, served as a test of the venue ahead of the Olympics but attracted few world-class swimmers. Swimming powerhouses like the United States and Australia only sent observers to the event.
