BRASILIA, Feb. 2 (Xinhua) -- Brazilian giant Flamengo beat Amercia 4-0 in Brazilian Guanabara Cup on Saturday.
All four goals came from the second half and Joel Santana, the head coach of Flamengo, said it was the player's attitudes that made difference.
"In the second half, we took the initiative and produced a fine result. We missed several opportunities but still scored four goals," said Santana.
"The first half wasn't very good. Perhaps the heat made us uncomfortable and we gave America plenty of space on the field."
Santana was confident of reaching the semifinals of the Rio de Janeiro statewide tournament.
"We have a 100 wining percentage and have accumulated many goals. We are almost there, almost guaranteed," he said.
Flamengo has accumulated 15 points in this year's state tournament. The spot in the semifinals may be guaranteed this Sunday if Cardoso Moreira does not beat Volta Redonda.
