(BEIJING, August 22) -- Hospitals in Beijing have improved medical services to create a favorable environment for the 2008 Olympic Games.

769 cataract patients in Fangshan District of west Beijing have regained their sight thanks to a project launched recently by the district's Health Bureau, which even covered the cost of exams and cataract operations for the patients.

Doctors and nurses at the Capital Institute of Pediatrics brought around cartoon images of Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Garfield for hospitalized children to make them happy and aquainted the young patients with the Olympic Games through quizzes.

Recently doctors and representatives of the patients at the Eye Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Science had wide discussions on hospital management, medical services, nursing care, food nutrition and other topics, which led to a remarkable improvement in doctor-patient relations.
