China's Qu Ridong has secured a ticket to the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008 by claiming the gold medal in the men's skeet event at the Qingyuan shotguns World Cup.
Qu Ridong, 41, Bronze medallist of the Asian Championships in Bangkok, won the gold medal after a tense final which resulted in an exciting shoot-off against Sergey Yakshin, 37, from Kazakhstan.
After both hit the fist shoot-off targets, it seemed Yakshin got intimidated by the supporting audience for Qu Ridong, who won the shoot three to two.
He won a Quota place for China in Skeet Men event.
Sergey Yakshin, who was last World Cup medal winner in Kumamoto in 1999, won Silver with ahead of Sergey Aksyutin from Russia. Aksyutin won the shoot-off for third place against his team mate Valeriy Shomin four to three.
