The artworks, depicting the Olympic sports of equestrian, rhythmic gymnastics, weightlifting, archery, gymnastics and football, integrate the pictographs of the ancient Chinese sports and the image elements of the modern Olympics, and contain rich cultural connotations.
Each piece of the embroidery, 40 centimeters long and 30 centimeters wide, is handmade in Suzhou style, one of the four famous embroidery styles in China, and it took several months for the craftswomen to complete it. With a total circulation of 99, each article is priced at 29,800 yuan.
At the launching ceremony, it was announced that the first set would be purchased by the China Sports Museum.
