In December of last year, the managing teams for the MPC and IBC of the Beijing Olympic Games were formed. From Sunday onwards, the teams will begin their perhaps most intense stage of preparatory work ahead of the August Games.

Tens of thousands of reporting personnel will use the high-tech facilities in the MPC and the IBC to provide information regarding the Olympics around the clock.

The MPC is the workplace of 5,600 accredited journalists and photographers. It is also a center to gather and supply information on the Beijing Olympics. In addition, it is a place to showcase Chinese culture.

The IBC is the workplace of the Beijing Olympic Broadcasting Co., Ltd. (BOB) and rights-holding TV broadcasters, over 10,000 from around the world.

Both the MPC and the IBC are located in the midst of all the Olympic action, close to the National Stadium, or "Bird's Nest," and the National Aquatics Center, also known as the "Water Cube."

The centers will be open from July 8 to the end of the Paralympic Games.
